Destiny

From December 2, 2014 to May 31, 2017, Destiny was my game of choice. I played Destiny since version 1.1, and thought that it was one hell of a game – among the best that I have ever played (and I’ve played a lot of games!)

I was introduced to the Xbox through Halo and grew up with the franchise through each successive generation of the Xbox console, so it only made sense that Destiny would captivate me so. It also served as an introduction to social gaming for me. Destiny was sticky, had a high skill cap, and was terrific fun. Bungie knocked the ball out of the park on many notes, but Destiny was not without its shortcomings. Fortunately, developers within the Destiny community created a slew of tools that oftentimes put Bungie’s to shame, making the game more approachable and simplifying routine tasks.

My Goals in Destiny

  • Take my PvP game to the next level
  • Build Destiny Serious Business into one of the world’s best Destiny communities by attracting the right people
  • Form teams to go after Destiny‘s top competitive players and streamers… I’m gunning for the Crucible elite

How’d I Do?

I know that I could have taken my game further by playing the meta. Instead, I clung to The Last Word long past its heyday, more out of nostalgia than anything else. Similarly, I kept hold of my sniper rifle.

Towards the tail end of my Destiny career, I began participating in tournament-style and organized league play. I played in season three in PvP Bear League’s Pro Conference (PvPBearTournies.com), leaving when it was my time to go. While my performance was nothing stellar, I did manage a few bright moments during the course of those games, including one nasty team wipe with the Winged Word:

Destiny Serious Business grew with my channels. I believe it’s got potential, and aim to see it blossom in Destiny 2. The foundation is solid – now it’s time to build.

Anyways, enough with me. Continue onward, if you will!
