Logitech G502 Proteus Core

The Logitech G502 Proteus Core (MSRP $79.99, Amazon.com)

is a well-thought-out gaming mouse that features unconventional styling, and all the bells and whistles that Logitech peripheral aficionados have come to love.

I bought my Logitech G502 on September 28, 2015 to replace my Logitech G700.

I like the G502’s button layout over my outgoing Logitech G700. It’s less busy, and the buttons are easier to identify by touch.

Examining teardown photos, I was very pleased to find that Omron micro-switches (D2FC-F-7N) are featured widely throughout the G502. These are more reliable than the tactile switches that came and went in previous iterations. Perhaps the Logitech G team listened to user feedback?

The Logitech G502 features 11 programmable buttons. Programming is done through Logitech Gaming Software.

The Logitech G502 includes five 3.6g weights, which can be used to further tune the feel of the mouse. I run my Logitech G502 without any of the weights.
